This is Cosmos—a sweet, humble 1.5-year-old boy who has been overlooked for far too long. He is the perfect companion, but he’s been passed by simply because of his black fur. In fact, we saved him from being euthanized just because people didn’t want a black dog.

Cosmos deserves better. He is gentle, calm, and full of love. He may be shy at first, but once he opens his heart, you’ll see just how warm and loyal he can be. He’s fantastic with other dogs, cats, and people, and would thrive in a home where life is about peaceful walks and quiet evenings. Cosmos is 22 kilos of pure love, waiting for a family who can see beyond the color of his coat.

But his story is one of survival. He was abandoned with his three siblings and cruelly abused before we stepped in, along with police and neighbours, to save them from a life of torment. These dogs didn’t deserve the hand they were dealt—but now we have the chance to change their fate.

Black dogs are often passed over, but Cosmos is proof that they have just as much love, loyalty, and joy to give as any other dog. He has waited long enough. Cosmos deserves a family who will see him for the amazing, loving companion he is—not the color of his fur. We can’t let prejudice dictate his future.
