Talia Holz

executive director and founder

Talia, our very dedicated founder and director, is originally from Chile but moved to Vancouver many years ago. She manages all of the rescuing operations and fostering of the dogs along with our Chilean counter-parts who are part of our sister society, Homeless Pets Chile. Talia brings most of the dogs to Canada and spends her hours outside of her full-time job raising money for the Society and promoting us around Vancouver and the lower-mainland.

Eliza m.

director

Eliza has volunteered with HELP since adopting her boy Lukas in 2019. She has since adopted another dog, Luna as well. Eliza manages email inquiries and coordinates adoptions. She also runs a fundraising initiative, Knits for Pups (instagram: @knitsforpups) where she sells knitted items to raise money for our Society.

Jozi D.

Director

Jozi adopted her dog, Jackson, through Homeless Pets in 2020. She has since started volunteering with us, managing emails, conducting interviews, and helping our dogs find their new families. In 2021, Jozi adopted her second dog from HELP: Percy! Jozi has a B.Sc. from the University of Victoria and is currently in a full-time M.Ed program at the University of Northern British Columbia. In addition to school, Jozi works as a paramedic. She has always had a passion for helping, but dogs have a special place in her heart.

Sharon l.

Sharon adopted her best furry pal Pocho through HELP in December 2021 and now volunteers with the organization. When she is not teaching, writing, or making ceramics, she is rollerblading with her crew of dogs, which includes Pocho and a number of other furry canine characters she dog-sits.

Alana B.

Alana has always been passionate about animals. She has a BSc. Degree in Animal Biology from UBC. Over the years, she has noticed the imbalance of dogs needing homes in other countries and the limited supply of adoptable dogs in BC. This has fueled her passion for animal rescue. When she met a HELP volunteer at Petapalooza in 2021, she knew this was a great opportunity to get involved in animal rescue. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing newly adopted dogs arrive at Vancouver airport to meet their loving forever families.
